(More customer reviews)There's much to like here. I've had many FW800 external enclosures (mostly Macally enclosures)and the ease of insertion and removal here was a big plus for me. I have two work sites and being able to carry my drives from one to the other and have them online a minute or two after I arrive is a big plus.
But -- take note: IN JBOD MODE, CONNECTED TO A MAC, THE DRIVES WILL NOT SLEEP. I don't know what the Windows or Linux situation might be.
I verified this with the manufacturer and the vendor. It took a long time for them to admit that this was true, but they did. They blame it on Oxford, the FW chip manufacturer.
In any of the RAID configurations, sleep works properly.
